# Referral Program

### What is the Meta Pool Referral Program?

The Meta Pool Referral Program is a way to earn rewards by bringing new stakers to the protocol. When someone stakes in Meta Pool using your unique referral link, you earn tickets. Those tickets enter you into a monthly draw where you can win prizes. The more real staking your referrals bring (and the longer they stay staked) the more tickets you accumulate and the better your chances.

Think of it as a referral system built on top of real economic activity. There are no points for likes, shares, or follows. Every reward is tied to verified staking onchain.

***

### Why should I participate?

* You already stake in Meta Pool. Your referral link is already active: you just need to share it.
* Every person you bring who stakes generates tickets for you automatically. You don't have to do anything after they stake.
* Over time, your tickets build your XP, which builds your tier, which unlocks access to bigger prizes. The earlier you start, the more you compound.
* The program is free to join. No application. No minimum stake from you. Just share your link.

### Before you start, key concepts you need to understand

#### What is an identity?

In the Meta Pool Referral Program, you are not just a wallet address. You are an **identity**. Your identity ties together all your wallets, your referral link, your staking history, and your rewards into one unified profile.

This matters because:

* If you have multiple wallets, they can all be linked to the same identity
* Your rewards are calculated per identity — not per wallet
* Your tier, XP, and tickets persist across cycles because they belong to your identity, not a single wallet

#### What is a referral link?

Your referral link is a unique URL that tracks who you brought to Meta Pool. When someone stakes using your link, the system detects that stake onchain and attributes it to your identity automatically.

Your link looks like this:

```
<https://metapool.app/stake?ref=XXXXXX>
```

You can find it in your dashboard as soon as your wallet is active in the program.

**One critical rule:** the referral link must be used at the moment of staking. It cannot be applied retroactively after a stake has already been completed. Make sure your referrals use your link before they stake, not after.

#### What is a cycle?

The program runs in monthly cycles. Each cycle starts on the first day of the month and closes on the first day of the following month. At the end of each cycle, a draw is held and prizes are distributed.

Everything you do during a cycle (staking, referring, engaging) contributes to your position in that cycle's draw.

#### What are tickets?

Tickets are your entries into the monthly draw. The more tickets you have, the more weight you carry in the draw and the higher your chances of winning.

You earn tickets when:

* Your own staking qualifies (minimum 20 NEAR or $40 USD in SOL)
* Your referrals stake using your link

You do not earn tickets from clicks, shares, or passive activity. Only real staking counts.

### How to participate, step by step

#### Step 1: Find your referral link

Go to your Meta Pool dashboard. Your referral link is already there waiting for you. You do not need to apply or register separately.

If you do not see your referral link yet, make sure your wallet is connected and that you have interacted with Meta Pool at least once (staking, restaking, or depositing).

#### Step 2: Share your link

Share your referral link with people in your community who might want to stake. You can share it on X (Twitter), Telegram, Discord, or anywhere you communicate.

When you share, be clear about one thing: **they must use your link before they stake.** If they go to metapool.app directly without your link and stake, that transaction cannot be attributed to you.

A simple message you can use:

> *"If you want to stake in Meta Pool, use my referral link so we both benefit: \[YOUR LINK]"*

#### Step 3: Your referrals stake

Your referral clicks your link, arrives at Meta Pool, connects their wallet, and stakes. The system detects that stake onchain and automatically links it to your identity. You do not need to do anything, it happens in the background.

#### Step 4: Tickets are generated

Once your referral's stake is confirmed onchain, tickets are generated for you. You can see them in your dashboard. The number of tickets depends on how much they staked and how long they keep it staked.

You also receive a **boost** from your referrals' activity: you earn 60% of the ticket weight generated by your referrals' staking. This means your referrals' continued staking keeps benefiting you, not just the initial deposit.

#### Step 5: Decide what to do with your tickets at end of cycle

At the end of each cycle, during a 72-hour window, you choose what to do with your **premium tickets**:

**Option A. Play the draw** Use your tickets in the monthly draw. The more tickets you hold, the more weight you carry. Prizes range from small rewards all the way up to the Jackpot Lane. Higher tier users can access bigger prizes.

**Option B. Convert to XP** Exchange your tickets for XP instead of playing the draw. XP builds your tier permanently. A higher tier unlocks access to bigger prizes in future draws, so converting now can mean winning more later.

This decision is permanent. A ticket goes to the draw or becomes XP, not both.

### Understanding tickets in detail

#### Two types of tickets

| Type | What it is | Can convert to XP | Used in draw |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------- | ----------------- | ------------ |
| Premium tickets | Earned from qualifying staking and referrals | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes |
| Boost tickets | Earned from network activity and referral engagement | ❌ No | ✅ Yes |

Premium tickets are the valuable ones, you can choose what to do with them. Boost tickets always go to the draw automatically.

#### How many tickets does a stake generate?

The system uses a weight-based calculation. In general:

* Larger stakes generate more tickets
* Staking that has been active longer generates more weight
* Referrals that stay staked generate ongoing benefit for you, not just at the moment of the initial stake

#### XP conversion: is it worth it?

Converting tickets to XP instead of playing the draw is a long-term strategy. The conversion rate decreases with each ticket you convert in a cycle:

| Ticket converted | XP you receive |
| ---------------- | -------------- |
| 1st | 120 XP |
| 2nd | 90 XP |
| 3rd | 60 XP |
| 4th onwards | 40 XP each |

If you are in your first few cycles, converting your first ticket gives you 120 XP, the highest rate available. That XP accumulates permanently and moves you toward higher tiers that unlock bigger prizes. Think of it as investing now to win more later.

### Tiers: your long-term progression

Your tier is your level in the program. It is based on your **all-time XP,** it never resets between cycles. Every cycle you participate in moves you forward permanently.

| Tier | XP required | What it unlocks |
| --------- | ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| Egg | 0+ | Entry to the draw — basic prizes |
| Hatchling | 120+ | Faster point streaks, first rescue rewards |
| Juvenile | 380+ | Side quests, second-chance entries, cleaner boosts |
| Adult | 900+ | Protected entries, stronger conversions, premium access |
| Legendary | 1,880+ | Bigger reward lanes, network shields |
| Mythic | 3,600+ | Rare multipliers, premium lanes, stronger season perks |
| Eternal | 6,400+ | Rarest drops, prestige lanes, top-end unlocks |

Higher tiers unlock access to larger prizes. The Jackpot Lane, for example, is only accessible to Legendary tier and above, meaning a user in Egg tier cannot win it even if they have enough tickets. Building your tier is the most important long-term move in the program.

### The monthly draw: how prizes work

#### Prize tiers

Each prize has a minimum ticket requirement and a minimum tier requirement. You must meet both to be eligible.

| Prize | Max winners | Tickets required | Tier required |
| ----------------- | ----------- | ---------------- | ------------- |
| Starter Streak | 10 | 3 | Egg |
| Recovery Pass | 5 | 6 | Hatchling |
| Quest Loader | 3 | 10 | Juvenile |
| Vault Key | 2 | 15 | Adult |
| Network Amplifier | 1 | 24 | Legendary |
| Mythic Override | 1 | 36 | Mythic |
| Jackpot Lane | 1 | 52 | Legendary |

#### How the draw works

The draw is weighted, it is not a simple random lottery. Your tickets determine your weight in the draw. More tickets means more chances. But tier gates mean that even with many tickets, you can only compete for prizes your tier can access.

Winners must maintain their stake for a hold period after the cycle closes. If you win and withdraw your stake before the hold period ends, the prize is voided.

### Supported networks: v1

This first version of the program supports staking on:

| Network | Product | Where to stake |
| ------- | ------- | ---------------- |
| NEAR | stNEAR | metapool.app |
| Solana | mpSOL | sol.metapool.app |

Additional networks will be added in future versions of the program.

#### Minimum staking to qualify

| Network | Minimum |
| ------- | ------------------------- |
| NEAR | 20 NEAR |
| Solana | $40 USD equivalent in SOL |

Stakes below the minimum do not generate tickets and are not eligible for prizes.

***

### Rules: what keeps the program fair

* **No self-referrals.** You cannot use your own referral link to stake with your own wallet and earn tickets from it.
* **No coordinated farming.** Agreements with others to artificially generate referrals result in disqualification.
* **Stake must remain active.** If your referral unstakes before the cycle closes, the associated tickets are voided.
* **One identity per person.** Operating under multiple identities to multiply rewards results in disqualification.
* **Links cannot be applied retroactively.** If your referral stakes without using your link, that transaction cannot be attributed to you afterward.

***

### Q\&A

**Q: I already stake in Meta Pool. Do I have a referral link?** A: Yes. Every wallet that has interacted with Meta Pool already has a referral link. Go to your dashboard and you will find it there. You do not need to apply for anything.

***

**Q: What exactly do I need to tell my referrals before they stake?** A: Tell them two things. First, use your referral link, not the main Meta Pool URL directly. Second, use it at the moment they stake, not after. If they close the tab and come back later without your link, the stake will not be attributed to you.

***

**Q: How do I know if a referral was successfully attributed to me?** A: Your dashboard shows your referrals and their current status. Once a referral stakes using your link and it is confirmed onchain, it appears in your dashboard automatically. You do not need to do anything, the system tracks it for you.

***

**Q: My referral staked but I don't see any tickets. What happened?** A: There are a few possible reasons. Their stake may be below the minimum threshold (20 NEAR or $40 in SOL). Their stake may still be pending confirmation onchain. Or they may have staked without using your referral link. Check your dashboard for the status of each referral.

***

**Q: What happens if my referral unstakes early?** A: Their stake enters a forfeited state. Any tickets generated from that stake are voided. You do not receive tickets for forfeited stakes. This is why it is important to bring referrals who intend to stake for the full cycle, not just temporarily.

***

**Q: Should I convert my tickets to XP or play the draw?** A: It depends on where you are in the program. If you are new and in Egg or Hatchling tier, converting your first ticket to XP (120 XP) gets you to the next tier faster, which unlocks better prizes. If you are already at a high tier with many tickets, playing the draw makes more sense. There is no universal right answer, but in the early cycles, building your tier is almost always the better long-term play.

***

**Q: Does my tier reset at the end of each cycle?** A: No. Your tier is based on all-time XP and never resets. Every cycle you participate in moves you forward permanently. You never go backwards.

***

**Q: Can I link multiple wallets to my identity?** A: Yes. The program supports multiple wallets under one identity. This means if you use both a NEAR wallet and a Solana wallet, you can link them to the same identity and all activity counts toward the same XP, tier, and tickets. Rewards are calculated per identity, so adding more wallets does not multiply your rewards artificially, but it does consolidate all your activity in one place.

***

**Q: I am a node operator in Node Studio. Can I participate in both the node contest and the referral program?** A: Yes. The Node Studio VP contest and the referral program run on the same infrastructure. Your referrals in the node contest count as verified referrals in the program. You participate in both simultaneously.

***

**Q: What is the Jackpot Lane and how do I reach it?** A: The Jackpot Lane is the highest prize tier in the draw. To be eligible, you need at least 52 tickets and Legendary tier (1,880+ XP). In the early cycles of the program, very few users will reach this. It is a long-term goal, but every cycle you participate in moves you closer to it.

***

**Q: Can I see how other participants are doing?** A: Yes. The leaderboard is public and updates in real time. You can see the top participants by tickets and by referral count. Find it at `/leaderboard` in the dashboard.

***

**Q: What if I have a question that is not answered here?** A: Reach out through Meta Pool's official Telegram channel or Discord server. The team is available to help with any questions about the program.
