mpDAO Grants Round - AI DeFi Builders @ Story Protocol

This round will be exclusively focused on integrating solutions for AI DeFi builders on Story Protocol. The mpDAO Grants Round - AI DeFi Builders is a specialized funding initiative aimed at supporting the development of cutting-edge technologies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain. This program seeks to empower developers, researchers, and innovators to create tools and solutions that enhance the Meta Pool DeFi ecosystem. The focus is on projects that leverage AI to optimize staking, improve governance, and increase user engagement within the Meta Pool platform.

Grant Scope

This grants round focuses on projects that:

  • AI and Blockchain-Based Projects on Story Protocol to Improve Meta Pool

  • AI-Based DeFi Protocols and Tools to Broaden Meta Pool's Utility and Reach

  • AI-Powered Agents, Recommendation Systems, or Personalized Dashboards to Improve User Experience

  • Machine Learning to Improve Staking Strategies, Predict Market Trends, and Provide User Insights

  • AI-Driven Analytics for Governance Decision-Making, Including Sentiment Analysis and Proposal Prioritization

  • AI Tools to Analyze Blockchain Data and Provide Actionable Insights for the Meta Pool Community

General Guidelines

  • Alignment with Objectives: Projects must directly or indirectly support the growth of the Meta Pool ecosystem.

  • Open Source Requirement: All funded projects are required to publish their code under an open-source license.

  • AI Integration: Proposals must demonstrate a meaningful integration of AI technologies into their solutions.

  • Milestone-Based Funding: Grant payments will be disbursed upon successful completion of agreed-upon milestones.

  • Progress Reports: Grantees must provide regular updates, including detailed progress reports and demonstrations.

  • Community Involvement: Projects should actively engage the Meta Pool communities, gathering feedback and iterating based on user needs.

Budgets and Milestones

Funding Allocation:

  • Small Projects: Up to $5,000 USD for proof-of-concept or MVP development.

  • Medium Projects: Up to $10,000 USD for scaling or feature-complete solutions.

  • Large Projects: Up to $20,000 USD for comprehensive implementations.

Payment Structure:

  • 15% initial payment upon approval.

  • 40% mid-term payment upon achieving defined intermediate milestones.

  • 45% final payment upon project completion and community review.

mpDAO Token Allocation: A portion of each grant (25%) will be distributed in mpDAO tokens, locked into governance with a 300-day unbonding period.

Funding Tiers for mpDAO Grants with Meta Pool DeFi Ecosystem Involvement

1. Small Projects: Proof-of-Concept or MVP Development

This tier is designed for early-stage projects focused on validating ideas and building Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) that enhance or integrate with the Meta Pool and Story Protocol DeFi ecosystem. These projects should showcase how AI can bring innovative solutions to decentralized finance, such as liquidity management, yield optimization, or governance.

Expected time of delivery: 1 month.

Meta Pool and Story Protocol Involvement:

  • Projects must demonstrate a clear alignment with Meta Pool and Story Protocol broader DeFi objectives, including advanced financial tools and AI-driven features.

  • Deliverables include functional prototypes or MVPs that integrate AI into Meta Pool and Story Protocol DeFi ecosystem, such as tools for managing liquidity or automating complex decision-making processes.

  • Funding supports research, development, and initial testing of DeFi solutions powered by AI.

Example Deliverables:

  • A prototype AI tool that optimizes liquidity pools within Meta Pool and Story Protocol .

  • AI-driven governance assistants to support decision-making in Meta Pool and Story Protocol decentralized ecosystem.

  • A whitepaper proposing AI frameworks to predict DeFi trends and maximize protocol efficiency.

2. Medium Projects: Scaling or Feature-Complete Solutions

This tier is tailored for projects that have validated their ideas and are ready to expand functionality or address scalability challenges. The focus should be on advanced integrations and enhanced DeFi tools that directly benefit Meta Pool and Story Protocol ecosystem.

Expected time of delivery: 3 months.

  • Designed for projects scaling AI capabilities to provide more sophisticated DeFi services, such as advanced analytics, liquidity optimization, or personalized financial planning.
