Vote Delegation Program
Can I delegate my VP to multiple Delegates at the same time?
Yes. You can split your available VP across several Delegates (e.g., 40% to one, 60% to another). Each delegation requires a separate transaction. This allows you to participate in multiple Farms and diversify your farming rewards.
Is there an unbonding or lock-up period when I delegate or unvote?
No. Both delegation and unvote (revoke) take effect immediately after the wallet transaction is signed. Your released VP becomes available right away to redelegate or use directly.
Does the Delegate's fee affect my farming rewards?
No. The fee only applies to the monthly base voting rewards (distributed on the 3rd of each month). Farming rewards (daily, from Delegate-created Farms) are distributed 100% to delegators proportional to delegated VP β no additional fee is deducted.
What happens to pending rewards if I change Delegates?
You lose nothing. Base voting rewards accrued up to the change (until the 3rd of the month) are calculated and distributed based on where your VP was during the effective votes. Farming rewards accumulated until the change remain claimable in the Delegation Program tab (including from finished Farms, within the claim deadline window).
Can I be a Delegate and delegate my own VP to another Delegate at the same time?
No. The system does not allow a registered Delegate to delegate their own VP to another Delegate. Your VP as a Delegate always remains under your direct control for voting.
How is my share in an active Farm calculated?
Proportionally to your delegated VP divided by the Delegate's total VP (self VP + all received delegations). Rewards only distribute when the total VP meets or exceeds the minimum set by the Delegate and the Farm is active (Rewards ON). The slider estimator in the Delegate modal shows a real-time projection.
What happens if total VP drops below the minimum during an active Farm?
Daily reward distribution pauses (Farm shows Rewards OFF) until the total VP meets the minimum again. No funds are lost β the remaining-to-allocate balance stays in the Farm and resumes distribution once the condition is met.
How many times can I change my fee as a Delegate?
As often as you want, but only one pending update is allowed at a time. Any new scheduled change replaces the previous pending one. Every fee update has a fixed 30-day delay before it becomes effective, protecting delegators from sudden increases.
Are there endorsed Delegates or checkmarks? How are they selected?
Yes, certain Delegates can be endorsed (pinned at the top + checkmark badge) by Meta Pool based on proven track record, ecosystem contributions, and community support. Endorsement is not exclusive β any community member meeting the 200,000 VP requirement can register and receive delegations. Endorsed Delegates serve as a vetted starting point for new delegators.
Where do I claim my rewards?
Base voting rewards (monthly, after fee deduction): In the main Voting Power Dashboard (look for claim buttons near Monthly Rewards).
Farming rewards (daily): In My Votes section > Delegation Program tab (individual Claim rewards buttons per Farm).
What are the main risks of delegating my Voting Power?
The primary risks are:
Choosing an inactive or misaligned Delegate (they may not vote or vote against your preferences).
Temporary pause of farming rewards if total delegated VP falls below the Farm's minimum.
Opportunity cost if the Delegate sets a high fee or stops being active. Your locked mpDAO tokens always remain under your full control β delegation only affects voting rights and reward sharing, never custody.
How can I verify a Delegate's activity and trustworthiness before delegating?
Check their Delegate age, total received VP, and number of voters in the Delegate overview.
Review their voting history on-chain (via explorer or Meta Pool dashboard).
Look for public communication: Discord messages, forum posts (NEAR Gov or Meta Pool channels), or X announcements explaining their voting criteria and rationale.
Prefer Delegates with endorsements (checkmark) or long Delegate age and stable voter base.
How does Vote Delegation Program integrate with the overall Vote-to-Earn system?
Delegated VP counts the same as direct VP for generating base voting rewards (validators/grants). The only difference is that rewards are split according to the Delegate's fee. If you delegate, you still participate fully in Vote-to-Earn without needing to vote manually β the Delegate does it for you.
What happens if a Delegate doesn't vote in a round or proposal?
If the Delegate does not vote with the delegated VP in an effective voting round (validators or grants), that portion of VP generates no base voting rewards for anyone (neither the Delegate nor the delegators). Always choose Delegates with a consistent history of active participation.
